Abstract
Sciatic nerve injury is caused by various reasons, and one of them is total hip arthroplasty (THA). The prevalence of peripheral nerve injury after THA ranges between 0 to 3%. In this case report, three patients complained of lower limb weakness after THA. Electrodiagnostic study showed sciatic neuropathy in each patient. A follow up assessment, including electrodiagnostic study, was performed after more than a year. The assessment results from three patients showed poor outcome. Therefore the risk of sciatic nerve injury after THA should be thoroughly assessed before the surgery.
